Q: I can’t make it to the race, but would like to donate
to the HTAF.
A: If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to the Seattle Animal Shelter, you can easily donate here!
Q: Is the registration fee for the whole family or per
A: The registration fee is per person. We do not offer a family registration fee. Registration fees are outlined here.
Q: Can I pick up my race packet and t-shirt before the
A: Yes, avoid the registration table crowds on race day by picking up your race packet which includes: t-shirt, bib number, goody bag and timing chip (if you are being timed) on Saturday, June 13, at RoadRunner Sports in Green Lake. Please bring a photo ID and/or the e-mail confirmation you received if you registered for the race online. If you are picking up packets for several people, please be sure to have the email confirmation listing each participant. If you have questions about early race packet pick up, please email registration@furry5K.com.
Q: I don't have a dog. Can I still participate
in the Furry 5K?
A: Everybody is welcome to participate in the Furry 5K!
Q: I have a puppy that is not quite 6 months old
but is very active. We would like to run him/her to the race. Would
this be okay?
A: Feel free to bring your puppy to the race; however, you will need to participate in the walk and not the run. This regulation was established with your puppy's best interest and health in mind.
Q: Will there be shelter dogs at the race? We think
it will be great to see all of the dogs that are available for adoption.
A: Some of our shelter dogs and those from other rescues will be at the race. To see all the dogs available for adoption, stop by the shelter after the race or check out the shelter's website. The shelter is open that Tuesday-Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m.
Q: I have an animal (other than a dog) that I would
like to bring. Would
this be okay?
A: We discourage bringing animals other than well-behaved dogs to the Furry 5K. We cannot assume that all dogs at the race will respond well to other animals.
The event does benefit ALL ANIMALS at the Seattle Animal Shelter though!
Q: Can I use my in-line skates or ride my scooter in
the Furry 5K?
A: No. This is for the safety of humans and animals.
Q: Are baby strollers allowed in the Furry 5K?
Q: I have a child, do I need to register them?
A: Yes, we ask that you do. This is a fundraiser, so we hope that you will think of the registration fee simply as a donation to a good cause.
Q: How do I get to the race?
A: From North or South I-5, Go east on I-90. Take Exit 3 Rainier Avenue South. Turn right on Rainier Avenue and go 3.1 miles. Turn left on South Orcas street and go 0.9 miles. Continue onto Lake Washington Blvd. S. and go south for 600 feet to Seward Park. Additional directions can be found here.
Q: Is there parking in Seward Park?
A: No. You will need to park in the surrounding neighborhood. We encourage you carpool and arrive early as parking can be difficult.
Q: Oh no! I can't make the race. Can I get a refund?
A: No. All sales are final. Your registration fee is going to a worthy cause!
Q: Can I change my registration to someone else?
A: No. We can not transfer a registation into another name. Please have him/her register themselves - the registration fee helps many animals at the shelter.
Q: Is there a gear check?
A: Yes. Gear can be checked in the registration area up until the start of each race. Please leave all valuables at home. SAS and Furry5K will not be responsible for any "gear" checked (including wallets, keys, cell phones, iPods, etc). Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you again for supporting the Furry 5K!
