Seattle Animal Shelter Volunteers work 365 days a year to help the animals and raise funds to fulfill the shelter’s mission of "Saving One Life at a Time." The program includes over 600 dedicated volunteers that provide over 25,000 hours of service per year and space for 900 animals in their own homes.

Be a hero, save a life! Fostering can be an excellent family project. It is an intense, short-term commitment where you care for a shelter animal in your own home. Foster orientations are held monthly, and more foster parents are always needed.
Please visit www.seattle.gov/animalshelter/foster.htm to find out how you can become a foster parent.
